Happy Friday everyone!
Tomorrow kicks off this amazing event, the teams will be building their structures in the former Talbot’s space in One Oxford Centre in downtown Pittsburgh. They will be open to the public all week so stop by and see for yourself! And if you do stop by, please bring a can of food to donate as your vote for your favorite structure! Here is a little more about the event:
Canstruction Pittsburgh is part of a national food fundraising event, which is held in over 140 cities world-wide. Canstruction National was founded in 1992 and in 2010 donated over 2 millions pounds of food! Last year was a huge success for us; in our first year holding the event, we were able to donate over 9,000 pounds of food to the local food bank! This year we hope to do even better.
The teams, made up of at least one design professional each, will build their structures at One Oxford Center (in the old Talbots space) on Saturday September 22, and they will be open to the public the entire week of September 24-28. You can stop by during business hours and see and even bring a can to cast your vote for People’s Choice! We will cap off the week with a public gala and then award the teams for “best of” in 6 different categories.
Come see this amazing display and support this great event! If you would like to sponsor the event in any way, or if you have any questions, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org or just email me email@example.com
And finally, here are last year’s teams. Keep an eye out the week of the event for photos by yours truly! I’ll be documenting Build-out day as well as the gala and awards!
