In my Bag (My gear) | Pittsburgh Professional Photographer

I get a lot of questions about what is in my bag: what gear  I use, what accessories I love and what would I love to have. So here it is, and also where you can get it!

Cameras:

  • Nikon D800 (my main beast)
  • Nikon D700 (my back up camera)
  • Nikon D90 (back up to my back up)

Lenses:

  • 24-70mm 2.8G (Nikkor)
  • 50mm 1.4 (Nikkor)
  • 105mm 2.8 macro (Nikkor)
  • 35mm 1.4 – (Sigma ART)
  • 70-200 2.8 (Nikkor)
  • Lensbaby Muse – Read all about Lensbabies here 🙂

Accessories:

  • Lens Critters (Cookie Monster, Nemo and Elmo) – made by my mom, and I have a few more from her if you are interested in purchasing them, just contact me  🙂
  • Speedlite – Nikon SB700
  • My Kelly Moore bag (looks like a super cute purse! I have the “2 Sues” in Mustard, it is so amazing!) I bring this with me to my newborn sessions and on the go with my own kids 🙂
  • Circular Polarizing Filters – click on this link to see all sizes**
  • Graduated Neutral Density (ND) filter **
  • Full-size and travel size “5 in 1” circular reflectors

* * Filters are sized for the diameter of the lens, NOT the focal length! You will find the size you need by looking at the inside rim at the end of your lens. It will say “⌀ 52mm”

Tools:

  • Wacom Tablet – This is where I edit all your photos, a mouse just doesn’t cut it
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6 (you can get Photoshop Elements, which I also use, here)
  • Adobe Lightroom 5
  • 27″ iMac – All the better to see you with haha
  • 13″ Macbook Pro (with retina display) – my travel companion and tool for my in-person ordering sessions

What is the best place to get it all? I have used and recommend 3 places:

  • Amazon (I am addicted, plus it is awesome for reviews)
  • B&H Photo – has a ton of great quality products and great customer service.
  • Nikon  – being the direct brand, it often has items in stock when other places are on back order! Same would apply with Canon, but I’m a Nikon girl so I can’t speak for them 🙂
