I know, shame on me, I have lived in Pittsburgh for 6 1/2 years and I have never been to Phipps Conservatory! Well I have been dying to check it out for awhile, so this weekend we decided to go. I was a little hesitant bringing the kids (like we had a choice) but my husband told me there was a big train exhibit so I figured at least they would like that. Well they did, but they also had a blast wandering through all the paths and checking out all the water features. And the “do it yourself” fountain, HUGE hit 🙂
I packed up my “Big Bertha” as I am starting to call it (aka my D800 with my 24-70mm lens, it almost weighs as much as my daughter lol), and I knew I wanted my macro lens so I also brought my back up D90 so I wasn’t switching lenses constantly. Oh ya, and diapers, zippy cups and all that stuff too. And it all fit into my awesome all-in-one camera/kid bag that my mom made me 🙂
As much fun as I had with the family, I definitely need to go back by myself to do photos. Keeping one eye on my kids and another in my viewfinder was not easy! So much fun though and if you haven’t been (or it’s been awhile) I highly recommend it, even for the kids!
Here are the rest of the images, I can’t wait to go back and do it again!
