The holidays are upon us! This super fun and energetic family braved the cold morning to take advantage of my holiday mini photo session. We met at Peters Lake Park, which I have found to be so incredibly versatile and one of my favorite spots to shoot. This was the first time I had used the wooded side of the lake, but with it’s evergreens and great view of the lake it was the perfect setting!
It started out F R E E Z I N G (as in flurries earlier that morning) but some how in the middle of the session we all warmed up and it was perfect! These kids were so much fun and have great personalities. I can honestly say this was one of the most fun sessions I’ve had to date. We ran around, walked across lots of logs, explored, and the kids even broke out in an impromptu dance party!
It was also great watching Dad give the kids (and me haha!) a lesson about woodpeckers that we heard. He found some holes in the tree and I had no idea that they make holes for bugs and then come back later! We also all watched a hawk circling and screeching. Very refreshing to see kids so interested in nature. Overall just a great time, and one of the very many reasons I love my job 🙂
And last, but most certainly not least, I think this is my favorite photo! I was snapping away at the kids and the parents snuck away to warm up. Such a fleeting moment, and I will admit I didn’t get a perfect shot of the whole thing so this is a combination of two photos, but I couldn’t leave it out!
