My first twin newborn photos! I met their mom, Heather, a couple years ago when our sons started in the same gym class. She is a publisher for the local edition of Macaroni Kid Newsletter (a gold mine for kid/family-friendly events happening!). Last spring she announced she was pregnant with her 3rd child, very exciting! After not seeing her all summer, I casually asked how her baby was doing when I saw her again in the fall. She answered that there was not one baby but TWO babies (although she really looked like she was carrying one the whole time)! But here are her two cuties, Riley and Calleigh 🙂 I was so excited to be able to tell them apart while editing (their close-ups, not just the ones of Calleigh wearing a bow lol). Such beautiful babies and they were a dream to work with. I think I was actually quite spoiled!

Their big sister and brother are just so excited to help out with them too. And Big sister even helped me pick out a spot and pose for their family photo! At the end of the session I was helping Heather wrap up the babies and super twin mom (of less than a week) can already confidently take both babies at once! So impressive. And I have to say that one of my favorite moments of the day was after the session when we were each sitting on the floor with one of them rocking them back to sleep and chatting. Totally got my baby fix (and then got peed on lol, but that is just part of the job perks right?).

And I think I may start adding one of these to all of my newborn session posts. Just a safety reminder! Please don’t ever try to do these (and more complex) poses alone and without doing a composite image! I always enlist the help of a parent to help make sure baby is safe and secure for these poses, and if baby is not fully asleep and settled I will not even attempt them. Safety first! 🙂
